Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Java / Spring Boot / React)

Why this role matters

We are scaling our engineering team past 6+ developers and need an experienced, autonomous full-stack builder to work alongside our CTO and senior developers on heavy execution. Your balance of rapid prototyping and rigorous architectural discipline (Arc42, DDD, TDD/BDD) ensures we move fast without sacrificing long-term code quality. In our flat structure, your contributions directly accelerate platform velocity while lifting team craft across the board.

What you will do

-

Full-stack feature delivery, clean domain modelling, and hands-on technical contributions across our core platform.

-

Design, build, and ship end-to-end full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and React.

-

Collaborate closely with the CTO and senior developers on architecture, system design, and heavy execution.

-

Apply rigorous engineering standards including TDD/BDD, Arc42 architectural documentation, and Domain-Driven Design.

-

Leverage AI-agent pairing workflows and modern CI/CD automation on Azure and Kubernetes to maximize development velocity.

-

Coach and support junior engineers through active code reviews, pairing, and shared engineering standards.

-

Drive collaborative in-person problem-solving and rapid prototyping from our Munich office.

Your first 90 days

-

Month 1: Ramp up on our product domain, understand the Arc42 architecture, and deliver your first production-ready code contributions.

-

Month 2-3: Ship end-to-end features, tackle complex tasks alongside the CTO and senior peers, and introduce constructive process or tooling improvements across the stack.

-

By end of Q1: Operate as an autonomous senior contributor and trusted peer in the Munich office who collaborates closely with the team and shares new techniques or practices.

Who this is a fit for

-

~7+ years of software engineering experience delivering robust, production-grade applications.

-

Deep hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and React.

-

Strong practitioner of TDD, BDD, and structured domain modeling (Arc42/DDD).

-

Dedicated software craftsman with personal coding projects or open-source repositories to show.

-

Comfortable collaborating closely as a peer and mentoring junior developers in a flat team.

-

Based in Munich (or relocating) for regular in-office collaboration. What you bring

-

Deep professional experience in full-stack software development with Java, Spring Boot, and React.

-

A strong understanding of building reliable enterprise applications.

-

Familiarity with modern software architecture and cloud environments.

What it's like to work here

We balance startup agility with deliberate design: product decisions start with prototyping, and architectural choices are structured around Arc42, design patterns, and explicit quality constraints rather than gut feelings. While fast-moving and occasionally chaotic, we value thoughtful upfront architecture. Our rhythm combines daily stand-ups and frequent product/feature demos with high individual autonomy, heavily leveraging AI-agent pairing for execution while keeping team collaboration focused on architecture, requirements, and spending time together in person.

The offer

-

Direct collaboration and high trust alongside the CTO and senior peers in a flat setup.

-

A culture that values thoughtful upfront architecture and craft over reckless shortcuts.

-

Modern AI-agent pairing workflows that supercharge individual delivery and reduce busywork.

-

High autonomy to contribute ideas, introduce new tools, and shape domain patterns.

-

Energetic in-person team collaboration just outside of Munich.

This probably isn't for you if...

-

You are looking for a formal technical lead title or hierarchical management role rather than direct hands-on building.

-

You prefer purely remote work and do not want regular face-to-face collaboration in Munich.

-

You rely on top-down task management or treat tests, architectural documentation, and peer mentoring as afterthoughts.
